These guests came as a party of six ladies wanting a seasonal get-together and shopping trip in a new city. They wanted help on where to find a great Indian takeaway (easy peasy - Saffron in the Bailgate is wonderful) and where to find some interesting independent shops. The Lincoln House on Wordsworth Street is slap bang in the middle of the historic Cathedral Quarter of Uphill Lincoln - so it is minutes away from all the little boutique independent shops on Steep Hill and the Bailgate. It is also just a very short stroll down the hill to the big shops of the City Centre.

It couldn't be better for easy shopping, moments from the house. My own favourite which I always recommend is Heritage Country on Steep Hill. It is full of truly fabulous clothes, gifts and housewares - all with a stylish 'huntin' shootin' fishin' theme. The final request was for a place to get pampered - quickly dealt with by referring the ladies to Le Sanctuaire, Lincoln's loveliest spa and beauty salon on Steep Hill.
